Evaporation

Roll of paper in warm light.

Mist elimination recovers valuable products, protects the vapour phase from contaminants and protects downstream equipment.

Multi-effect evaporation is a widely used thermal separation technology in process industries. The purpose of the process is either to concentrate the product phase or to evaporate a ready product from the liquid phase. The mist eliminator recovers liquid products droplets from the vapours flow or it eliminates droplets from the product vapours. Evaporation processes often require mist eliminators with integrated cleaning systems– to avoid plugging and physical damage of subsequent components.

Most industrial evaporation processes are multi-effect systems. Solvents are evaporated step by step and the product phase becomes more viscous and concentrated. The liquid carry-over of such viscous and concentrated product droplets risk the damage of downstream equipment. In addition, every single droplet lost in the process represents a loss in raw material and energy.

Efficient mist elimination plays a crucial role in evaporation processes for both, protecting process equipment downstream of the evaporator and reducing loss of product.

The DH 5000 (TS-5 series) stainless steel droplet separator is a high performing vane type separator for horizontal flow. Customized to various applications - such as evaporators, absorbers, gas scrubbers, desulphurization units, gas coolers, exhaust air treatment plants, chemical plants, natural gas processing plants - the DH 5000 series is the first choice for droplet separation under harsh operating conditions.
The DV270 (T 271) droplet separator is a vane type separator for vertical flow. Used in many different application the DV270 became the so called 'all-rounder'.
